Wild Wild West

Ski Utah!

Or if it's summer, stop by Arches for a hike in the blazing sun and get a tan. Er... sunburn.

Then when you get to Park City, go to a ski resort, drink beer with friends, and watch downhill shred-fest premiers on a big screen. Not quite skiing, but generally the same idea.

They fill their cups from the bottom here. Mind. Blown.

Quick visit, but a packed day. We started getting the road-warrior giggles when we rolled into town, so BIG thanks to Dave and Silas for the quick reflex and offering up great food and drinks!

Here we come Oregon....

Wrecking Ball

Meanwhile in Eastern Colorado...

Rocky Mountain High

We made it out of Nebraska into Colorado!

That first view is just... Well it's like fresh air just fills your lungs instantly.

We saw some awesome people along the way...

For starters, this guy. We met him on the highway during some bumper to bumper traffic. Turns out he's from Dekalb! Not quite our hero (every trip needs one) but he DID smoke his cigarette, helmet-less, while cruising through the Rockies' passes. He's for real.

Speaking of mountain passes, we got our share of Kumbhaka (breath retention) practice through all the tunnels.

Side note- if it wasn't obvious enough from our first music video, we DO go back each night and re-visit our old posts and crack ourselves up.

Anyway as we were saying...

In Denver we had a quick stop at a construction site to see C's friend from San Diego, Kelly! He was digging the trucker hats so we let him borrow one. BORROW.

Some friends are just worth driving 2,060 miles for...

Next stop, the ER. That's right, we needed to go to the hospital... Don't worry-just to see D's friend Nate who works there.

Our friends and family are truly such great sports!

After winding through the valley, we made it to Carbondale where we got out for a quick hike. Eager to move after 18 hours of driving the past 2 days, we were bouncing around Red Hill and no one could stop us.

When we finally got to Aspen, we met up with our buddies for sushi.

They were pretty excited to celebrate our arrival!

We got caught in the rain after dinner.

And man, running though pelting rain at altitude after a bottle of wine (each?) is hard work.

Next day we took a rest day and went for a breathtaking hike up to the Maroon Bells. It was the perfect day.

Next stop, Salt Lake City! Bonus- we have road buddies now :)

We can see for miles and miles...

Please listen while reading

We left Chicago headed through Iowa, where we had the time of our lives at the World's Largest Truckstop.

In case you missed it, see here

After Iowa it was Nebraska, Nebraska, Nebraska, and.......Nebraska and peanuts.

Oh by the way, John Wayne says hi!

We spent the night in North Platte. You should check it out sometime, there is an airport.
But make sure you know where you are going because this may happen to you...

We were up and on the road at 7:30am the next morning. Next stop Aspen, Colorado.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

You're not gonna believe what we stumbled across in Walcott, Iowa...
Brock (D's boyfriend) says we're starting to look alike...

There's nothing we can write to transmit the feelings we experienced today. So come relive it with us. Enjoy!

They have everything here...

We would like to send a special thank you to Mike Balzano, the person who quite spontaneously came up with our official trip brand. Without you, we'd just be two supposed yoga-instructors on a road trip.

But now, and forever, this will live on as...

Tada!!!!!!!!!!! Personalized hats.

And you (and we) thought it couldn't get better than a dentist at a truckstop. Pshaw.

Sweet home Chicago

Finally back home.  With our day off I got to show C around the greatest city in the world, Chicago.

We switched it up today, instead of sitting for hours on end we went for a stroll....

I showed C Millennium Park where we did some yoga, ate lunch, and drank a few Chicago brews.

C and I in tree pose at The Bean.

C takes a nice stretch in wheel at the theater.

Me getting my up-dog on

I even introduced C to a new guy, Garrett (sorry Jeff-he's a little sweeter)

A Chicago favorite-Garrett's caramel pecan popcorn.

As night time rolled around it was time to carbo-load for our next big trip, we went out for dinner at Francesca's with the family.

After spending a night soundly sleeping, it's time to get back on the road again with an upgraded car. Thanks ma for swapping cars!

A huge thanks to my whole family for giving us a nice place to sleep, unpacking and reloading my car, and introducing C to deep dish pizza!

Dad in down dog after work in a suit! What a great sport!
